EARTH DAY!!!!

Ok ok, I know this post is a day late but I am curious as to what everyone did to celebrate our planet? Sadly, I forgot it was yesterday or i would have done more to celebrate in the spirit of our friend at jalopnik. I was not particularly green (driving my gas guzzling, geared down, GREEN painted jeep). My friend and I instead carpooled in his 1989 white honda accord.... sigh... the most gas efficient beasty we have... On a brighter note the accord apparently has bad valve stem seals so at least a little footprint was made and we went home and burned charcoal (carbon), ate burgers (which leads to methane), and smoked cigars (arguably burning part of the earths rich, greenery used to scrub my carbon from the air).

Now I don't mean to be political on a tech blog, but I do so enjoy poking environmentalists. Is there honestly a group of people on the planet more prone to irrational outbursts (see the link above)? This goes quite beyond the science, but rather to the sport of pushing peoples buttons and I must say, they have the most to push.

Anyways, my friend and I thought you might enjoy the jalopnik article, particularly its comments. I particularly liked the one comment (that appeared after each and every other comment) on the board stating "Please leave a livable world for our kids." Besides for the numerous statements that could be made about this persons sense of humor on a post that was clearly and obviously a joke, he made an interesting point. Let us role with that from an environmentalist perspective.

Man is arguably the most destructive creature on earth, capable of more violence and destruction than "shake the baby" app on itunes store. Saving for the planet then implies that we are breeding, thereby perpetuating this cycle. I am doing my part by not having children, removing the real greenhouse gas producer (especially after chile). I am ending the cycle where our little brazilian friend is simply perpetuating it further along. Why I could hardly be greener unless i died in a cave and decomposed on some garden seeds (thanks dilbert).

Frankly, funny liberal man aside, I am all about efficiency. Massive SUVs and trucks are not efficient, neither are hybrids. Small cars are, bikes are (though one could still argue that all that CO2 you breath out is killing the planet), transit systems sometimes are. These are all things that make sense on any level. There really is no reason for excess anything but hey, thats peoples choice, it they do the work and pay for it that is there option. Frankly, no matter what you do you will "affect" the earth. The only way to stop it is to STOP BREEDING. Nearly 7 billion is enough already. Do you realize how much breathing, how much farting goes on with that many people? Its just not efficient I tell you. Nevertheless, it really is not up to me whether you do, now the weapons i develop for when a mass starvation generated WW3 happens.... well, that was my choice too.

So yes, the long and short of it is, liberal environmentalist humorless man; you keep doing the rabbit thing and think of how each one of your children will drive a car, by a house, live and breath. While I help illuminate the problem, ensure my family's footprint dies with me and drive a jeep where i please (i will even have garden seeds sprinkled in my casket if that helps too). Cheers to everyone and i hope you had a great Earth Day.

PS both my cat and i farted during the making of this blog, suck it mother earth, suck it.
